Juno-nominated musician, producer, and composer Joshua Van Tassel unveils a new work this week as part of the Museum of the Moon installation at The Bentway in Toronto at 250 Fort York Boulevard. A 30-minute custom composition, created specifically for this presentation, accompanies the seven-metre touring sculptural work by UK artist Luke Jerram, which fuses lunar imagery to bring the moon’s surface to life. Joshua also performs as part of Moon Merge, a live Pondercast taping taking place at The Bentway on Saturday, September 14. With a full harvest moon rising over Toronto at the culmination of the Museum of the Moon exhibit, Pondercast host Laurie Brown and Van Tassel will explore how city-dwellers merge with their natural surroundings during the podcast recording that takes visitors on a virtual journey to the moon and back. The event also features performances from Choir! Choir! Choir!, and Bernice, and a special silent disco set by Rich Aucoin. October 25 – Toronto, ON: Moon Merge Pondercast taping // tickets // info |
