unfazed

Paper Beat Scissors has teamed up with musician/director Nick Schofield (Saxsyndrum, Year of Glad) to create a music video for the song Unfazed.

An abstract, sensual and emotive piece, the video features Montreal musician Alexia Avina flitting in and out in a nebulous, hazy role. The ghostly motif syncs perfectly with the lyrical theme of refusing to look your demons square in the eye. The sparse piano and haunting, weary voice of Crabtree are chaperoned through the song by hypnotic musical arrangements from Michael Feuerstack (pedal steel guitar) and Pietro Amato (The Luyas – French horn).

Tim Crabtree recently returned from a residency at Alberta’s legendary Banff Centre for the Arts. Aside from working on orchestral arrangements for new songs, he played clarinet in Richard Reed Parry‘s Music for Heart and Breath, performed at a house party with Leah Abramson of The Abramson Singers on backing vocals and Yuval Zorn, the conductor of the Tel Aviv Opera playing piano.
