The idea to record and release “Eccentrics & Young Professionals” was conceived in the midst of gingerbread houses, candy canes, and tinsel. We’d had this pair of songs left over from the “Safe Passage” days–remnants of previous band incarnations and their subsequent visions–and we were beginning to feel as if maybe, though we enjoyed playing the songs immensely, they didn’t belong in the new batch of songs we were writing for a full-length. Though the initial idea was to record and press the single as quickly as possible, in true Slate Pacific form, here we are 8 months later proudly announcing our first vinyl release.
Ladies and gentleman, coming to you in the truly marvelous and superior vinyl format, with stunning artwork by artist Nick Howe that sincerely needs to be held and touched in the flesh with your very own two hands to be wholly appreciated, we present our brand new single, “eccentrics & young professionals”. This very limited edition record is offered to you on high quality 10″ 45rpm vinyl from the depths of our imagination. The b-side is 8 minutes long. Enjoy.
