It’s all coming up Wolf Castle. After releasing his latest album in August, the rapper and producer from Pabineau First Nation has been getting a steady stream of well-deserved praise and has now dropped an incredible new video for the first track on the record.

“I grew up on the rez, and really that’s saying all you need to know. So to find myself in a luxurious castle is a situation I didn’t think I’d ever find myself in to say the least – but from now on that ain’t the case. Get Lit was my way of telling people that a new generation is here, and you better swim before you sink.”

Helmed by Jeff Miller, a music video director/editor based in Dartmouth NS, the video also features many local collaborators in the form of dance, choreography, costume design, makeup and hair, and more. The video premiered on the popular hip-hop website Complex last week, where Tristan also spoke up alongside other Canadian artists like Cadence Weapon and Donovan Woods about the recent convoy protests in Ottawa.

Wolf Castle also recently picked up two nominations for East Coast Music Awards in the categories of ‘Indigenous Artist of the Year’ and ‘Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year’ for his 2021 album Da Vinci’s Inquest.
